Being a critic of any type of media music, movies, and
sports isn’t just about free stuff. It about honesty and love of what you
do. Almost Famous is set in the year 1973 when music meant a lot to
everyone. But for one 15 year old kid named William (Patrick Fugit) who loves
bands of the time. He gets a job at one of the largest music magazines of all
time Rolling Stones. Not like most 15 years old kid instead of hanging out
with friends he is hanging out rock stars. His first assignment is to do an
article on a upcoming band called Stillwater. The lead guitar Russell Hammond
(Billy Crudup and Lead singer Jeff Bebe (Jason Lee) but what he doesn’t know
is that it will be a hard as he though.
Being on tour he learns a life-changing lesson about the
importance of family the ones we inherit and the ones we created.
Almost Famous you could call it a autobiographical film because
it like a page out of Cameron Crow life. Who hasn’t made a film since his
last film1996 Jerry Maguire?
Almost Famous may get him another couple of more
nominations. This film is very good movie. The story was very good and it
shows that the people who inspired the director and how the bands treated him
and how he became the director he is today.
The cast was great there are a lot of familiar faces in
it. There is Billy Crudup who plays Russell Hammond the lead guitar of the
band. You may have seen him in Jesus Son, which he was very good in that film.
In this film he played the rock star that fame went to his head. Then there is
Jason Lee who plays Jeff Bebe who is the singer of the group. You may remember
his from the Kevin Smith movies.
Next is Frances McDormand who was one of the funniest
casts as William overbears mothers Elaine who kind of reminds me of my mother.
Then there are the two main stars of the film Kate Hudson who plays the
band-aid Penny lane who was very good in the film. You may know her famous
mother Goldie Hawn. If she keep up the good work she can as good as her mom as
an actress.
The newcomer of the film is Patrick Fugit who plays the young reporter. He was very good in the film and he is a great upcoming actor keep an eye on him in the future he could be big and famous. The soundtrack of the film was also very good I am not big on Rock and Roll but I was getting into the music.
Overall Almost Famous was a very good movie on all levels. The acting, story, soundtrack. It will be on my top ten for the year on a personal lever I gave Almost Famous 4 ½ Stars if I was into the music I would gave the film 5 stars. This is one film not to miss it is worth the price of admission
