Mission to Mars

Rated: PG

Genre: Hardcore Science Fiction

Score: Strong 10

I think this movie got a well-deserved score 10
In the beginning, the movie showed realistic dialog
between 3 great friends parting for a long time. The
special effects was a tad faulty in some ways, in that
some of the explosions weren't correct by
the laws of physics. Otherwise, the movie was well writ,
with the obedience of science fiction rules, rule number
one, exercising realism. rule number two... compliant
storyline, and rule number three... blow your mind graphic

Action 10
Dialog 10+
Special Effects 10-
Actors 10

Although the movie, was good, a lot of the feedback I'm getting
about it is that it was a rip-off of Space Oddesy 2001, some
didn't like the dialog or acting, and others just had
different
tastes altogether.

Huugedude: Well, I guess I'll say that
Mission to Mars lacked sufficient dialogue
and acting, which killed the movie overall.

Cozmo Kramer MD: What about the strange
similarity to Space Odessy: 2001?

Huugedude: It had that aliens-behind-human
evolution theme going on, but 2001 was more
intellingently written.. Mission to Mars was kind
of like 2001 for dummies

Cozmo Kramer MD: and what about the
actor, Tim Robbins, did he deliver?

Huugedude: no...all the actors had bad dialogue...
it wasn't their fault, I guess. Bad screenwriting
and directing had a lot to do with it. The ONLY
element of MTM that impressed me was the
special fx, but that's about it

Cozmo Kramer MD: And the ending, was it a
good grande fanale?

Huugedude: I thought
it was kind of rushed, but it was okay because
we finally got to see them encountering aliens
