Story |
|
Mona Hibbard (Minnie Driver) is an ill-tempered young woman living in small-town America. Her one dream, to win the Miss America pageant, is hindered by the fact that she has an eight-year-old illegitimate daughter, Vanessa (Hallie Kate Eisenberg). However, with the help of her best friend, Ruby (Joey Lauren Adams), she is able to get herself into competition and then steadily rise to the top. The closer Mona gets to her dream, the more passionate she feels about her role as Vanessa's mom. A directorial debut from Sally Field, BEAUTIFUL is a fun-loving comedy. |
