Blow

A Film Review by Paul Perkins

*****

A Great Film Hands Down.

.

One of the biggest problems of the world is drug. Traffic shows us how it got in the use. Blow centers on the man who started it all. For George Jung (Johnny Depp) a young boy from a small town who family was going through a tough financial time. For George he swears that he would never work as hard as his dad or worried about money as much as his mother.

So he and his friend move to California to make it big but seeing that it not easy to make money with out a plan. He hooks up with a girl Barbara Buckley (Franka Potente) who they both come up with a plan to sell pot. But they need a buyer so they meet Derek Foreal (Paul Reubens) to help start their business. As their business becomes a hit they meet a fellow seller name Diego Delgado (Jordi Molla) and he tells them how they could make some big bucks. Doing what you may ask? Selling cocaine Blow is the true story of how George Jung became the first American to smuggle cocaine into the USA and his rise and fall because of it.

Blow was a very good movie here are some good and bad points about the film.

Good

  1. The story was very good it show How George ended up the way he did.
  2. The cast was very good.
  3. Johnny Depp gives a very good performance I think this is one of his best work.
  4. Paul Reubens was also very good He stole the screen every time he was one of his best performances as well.
  5. Penelope Cruz was also very good this was a different role for her.
  6. The film did not drag at all.
  7. It had couple of funny screens in it.
  8. The ending was good.
  9. The supporting cast was very good.
  10. The look of the film was good. The costumes were very 70’s and they look like the part.

I could not think of any thing bad about the film

Can’t wait for the DVD to come out to see if there are any deleted screens from the film..

Overall Blow was a very good film it tells the story of George life good and it was a very powerful film. It may not be for everyone because of the subject matter but for any one who is a movie buff you must see this very good film.
