In life there are many obstacles thrown our way. The object is how we deal with them after we overcome them, which is the difficult part. For Chuck Noland (Tom Hanks) his life is rule by the clock. The company he works for demands it, he is a FedEx system engineer. Just like a doctor he is always on call, his fast pace career takes him all over the world.
Often at a moment’s notice and away from his girlfriend Kelly (Helen Hunt who has been in everything this year) during a family gathering he gets beep for another assignment. Before he leaves he say goodbye to Kelly and tells her he be right back, but he will not. Because Chuck busy life has just ended cause his plane crashes over the ocean and Chuck becomes isolated on a remote island Castaway into the most desolate environment imaginable.
Chuck is loosing everything we take for granted, food, water, shelter as the island Is home for the next four years. He has figured out hot to survive but chuck is a consummate problem solver eventually figures out how to sustain him physically. Just when he though he would never get off fate has other plans for chuck and give him a way back to civilization. But then he is face with a bigger challenge than before how do he resume the life he had before since he has been gone for many years. As Chuck find out that surviving is easy it’s living that’s is difficulty.
If you are looking for a good story, life threaten moments in the film, a bit of comedy, romance, good actor and actress look no farther Castaway has it all and a bag of sand.
Castaway is directed by Robert Zemeckis who brings his style and grace to Castaway and made it an outstanding film. Here are some good and bad points of the film.
