Close Encounters of The Third Kind

A Film Review by Clyde Ayles

Recently, The Ritz Bourse in Phila had a Columbia pictures festival showing about a dozen films that were on A.F.I'S top 100. I went to see "Close Encounters" which i feel is one of the best films ever made. I first saw it when it was first released in 1977. In 2000, it still left a lasting impression. Even though i seen it on v.h.s & television, there is a magic of seeing it on the big screen in a darkened theater. I was pleased to see that the extended ending in the spaceship was deleted. The vision of Richard Dreyfuss whacking away hand in hand with the aliens was magical. I sat there mesmerized as the end credits rolled.

Spielberg, you are the king of the world.

If you have never seen this in the theater and get the chance, Please go for it.
