A Film Review by Paul Perkins

****

A Very Funny and Hip Comedy

.

In life you never know when it your time to meet your make and when you do are you happy to see him or do you want to come back to earth Down To Earth is the new film from the Weitz the guys behind American Pie.

For Lance Barton (Chris Rock) a amateur comedian (Now that’s Funny) who love to look at ladies Esp. when riding a bike but this time he get hit by a bus. So he goes to heaven but when he arrived at heavens door he finds out it was a mistake. Since returning to his own body is not an option a heavenly agent place him into the corpse of a rich Manhattan mogul.

Who just happen to got bump off by his wife but this body is only  temporary until a suitable body is found for Lance. But for Lance being this new person help him to find his true self and fall in love and make him a better comedian all in the process of fitting in.

Down To Earth was a funny movie here are some good and bad points about the film.

Good

  1. Even so this is a remake of Heaven Can’t Wait it still hold my interest and it has different thing the Heaven Can’t Wait did not have.
  2. The movie was very funny from start to end.
  3. It was a different role for Chris Rock usually he films had a lot of bad language but this one did not which is different.
  4. The cast was good they all seem to interact good with each other.
  5. Some of the scenes when he is dancing to music were very funny.
  6. Some of the inside jokes was also funny,
  7. The ending was good. I typical Hollywood ending but it was good.

 Bad

  1. Some of the stand up jokes in the Apollo scenes was done before. It some of Christ Rock older jokes. Not as funny because I  heard it so many times.
  2. Some of the interaction Chris has on the street could be some more.

Overall Down To Earth was a very funny movie you will laugh you socks off. But please don’t compare it to Heaven Can’t Wait it a different film and has stuff in it Heaven did not have. So go to have a good time and laugh your shocks off.
