Memento

A Film Review by Paul Perkins

Filmmaking at It Best

.

Once in a while a film comes out that blows your mind and when it does you cannot forget about it. This year the film is Memento and it about a man named Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce). Woes life has just change because his wife was murder and he must find out who did it.

But the only problem is that when his wife got killed he got hurt so bad that he lost his short-term memory. Meaning that after he meets someone 15 minutes later he forgets who he or she is. This is film noir dared down to it’s most visceral elements, setting it’s hero adrift in a sea of confusion and paranoia.

Memento was a very, very good movie when I left the theater I could not stop talking and thinking about this film. Here are some good and bad points about the film.

Good

  1. The story was very good. This is a film that you have to see from start to finish with out missing one minute.
  2. The cast was outstanding. How they was believable and work great together.
  3. The director did a great job of showing us the movie.
  4. The way the film played out was great it stared a different way that most films do.
  5. The film did not drag at all it keeps you into it from start to finish.

There was no bad thing I could think off.

Overall Memento was one of the best of the year. It might not be for everyone but if you do see it you will like it. But remember keep you eyes glue to the screen. This is not one to miss.
