.You can take a man money, car, home etc but you
can’t take a man soul or dreams. Even so your dream has never been done
before. Men of Honor for Carl Brashear (Cuba Gooding JR) the son of a
Kentucky sharecropper his father does not want him to end up like him so Carl
joins the Navy.
So Carl leave home to make a better life for him as his
father tells him never quit, be the best Carl take them words to heart. He joins
the navy under protest, the navy just became integrated but Carl does let that
stop him of his dream. He realized what he wants to be in life. So he tries to
join the dive school program but it not going to be easy to join because there
has never been an African American to join the dive programs. So he writes a lot
of letter to the captain to let him join.
So he gets accepted to the program and he meets his new
teacher Billy Sunday (Robert De Niro) who does not like Carl and tries
everything to stop him for finishing the class. But Carl does not quit because
is he working to his dream of being a Master Chief Navy Diver which is the
highest ranking you can get in the navy. But he will see it will cost him
everything he has to become what he wants to be and best the best he can be.
Men of Honor was one of the years best it has you from the start to the end. Here are some good and bad points of the film.
