Plot: Chuck Noland is a FedEx troubleshooter, who's charter flight crashes near the South Pacific, and leaves him stranded alone on an island. While his girlfriend and co-workers assume he's dead, he struggles to survive both physically and emotionally.

Audio: The audio on the dvd is remarkable it has every format there is and they are all great. There is my favorite DTS 5.1 and Dolby Digital 5.1 EX and there is the normal surround Dolby. There are English and Spanish subtitles all of this as well as being THX certified.

Video: The video transfer to dvd is great it has the colors and look it did in the movie theater with only a couple of flaws I saw but it is  nothing major the film is presented in Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1.

Menus: The menus are very cool and easy to navigate and they use Tom face and the cave he stays in the film.

Movie: In life there are many obstacles thrown our way. The object is how we deal with them after we overcome them, which is the difficult part. If you are looking for a good story, life threaten moments in the film, a bit of comedy, romance, good actor and actress look no farther Castaway has it all and a bag of sand. Special Features: This is one great Extra Features DVD there is a ton on this disc and it a Two Disc set. On the first DVD there is commentary from the director and stars which is good. On the second disc there is a HBO first look documentary which is very good and tells a lot about the story. There is 6 special effects vignettes which are very good. There is also 3 featurette which one of them is very cool it title  Wilson The Life and Death of a Hollywood Extra and it was very good. There is also a featurette called STOP meaning Surviving as a Castaway which is very good. There also Stills gallery which are pretty cool there is over 15 stills from the movie. There is also the movie trailers and a ton of TV spots. There in a 50 Mins interview with Tom Hanks on the Charlie Rose show. which is ok but just a tad bit too long.

Overall: A Very good DVD there is so much stuff on the disc you would be busy for hours. This is one DVD you do not want to miss.  Add this disc to your collection today you will love it.
