An Average Film

A man home is his castle and he will defend it if anyone tries to steal it. This is a premise in the new western film American Outlaws. The Civil War has just ended and a group of friends has just return to their home. There is Frank and Jesse James (Colin Farrell and Gabriel Macht) who is brother, Cole and Bob Younger (Scott Caan and Will McCormack) and their friends Tom (Nathaniel Arcand). Have been best friend for a while.

When they return home they have a new enemy to fight. The Rock Island Railroad has taking over the town, which is led by the powerful Thaddeus Rains (Harris Yulin) he is forcing the farmers to sell their land to him with the help of his henchman Allan Pinkerton (Timothy Dalton) and his secret service agents.

So the guys will not let their home go without a fight so the guys and a couple of new faces Jim Younger (Gregory Smith), Clell Miller (Ty O’ Neal) and Loni Packwood (Joe Stevens) make the infamous James=-Younger Gang and they sent out to stop the railroad from destroying their home.

American Outlaws was an ok movie better than I expected. Let me tell you why.

Good

  1. The Western scenes were very good I like a lot of the gunfights.
  2. The acting was not that bad. The two who stole the show were Frank and Jesse James they were very good in their part.
  3. Ali Later character was good much better then the model turn actress in The Planet of The Apes Movie.
  4. The music was good.
  5. The ending was a good one.
  6. The film had some funny scenes in it.

Bad

1.      There were a lot of funny scenes but I am not use to laugh in a western film.

2.      I am not big on Western.

3.      The love story between Ali and Jesses Character was not developing enough.

Overall American Outlaws was not a bad film it was much better than I though it would be let see how well it does in the box office. It worth half the price of admission but if you don’t like western you may not like it.
