A Good War Movie But Not A Good Love Movie
Since the beginning of time there
have been many wars that happen across the world. Many people lost their lives
fighting for what they believe in. This is one the story of Captain
Corelli’s Mandolin the war is the Italian
occupation of Greece during World War 2.
A Soldier Captain Antonio Corelli
(Nicolas Cage) who in a foreign land fighting in a war he didn’t believe in.
Must make a life and death decision get assigned to live in a Dr Iannis (John
Hurt) house. Which he doesn’t want to happen but the Italians make him a deal
he couldn’t refuse. But his Daughter The Beautiful Pelagia (Penelope Cruz)
does not like it at all and cannot stand Antonio.
This is the second part of the story happen. The two fall in love and risk everything because there love is like no other as the war going to test the both of them forever.
Captain Corelli’s Mandolin was Good war film but an ok love story. Let me tell you why.
Good
Bad
1. The love part of the story was a typical love story but it was not that good.
2. The two main stars had no good chemistry together. They did feel right together.
3. The film was a tad bit too long.
4. The ending was a typical Hollywood ending.
Overall Captain Corelli’s Mandolin was a good war film. But not a good love story film. It’s worth the price of admission only to see the war scenes and some of the acting. If you are going for the love story you will be disappointed.
