American Rhapsody

A Film Review by Clyde Ayles

Jeepers! It's A Creeper!

I hope this film gets a wider release. It stars out in communist Hungary.

A Family makes a pesperate escape to American, only to find they left their infant daughter behind. The infant is found and raised by a couple in Budapest. She is given a new identity. She is now six years old and her family is located in American she is sent there.

Years pass and she is now a teenager. She discovers a world she never knew. Television, Elvis, wild parties. Her mother (Natassta Kinsky) locks her in her room to save her from the evils of the world. Now the teenager wants to go back to the couple in Budapest she is allowed to go. But in the process she learns the real values of life.

This is a true story. The director Eva Gardos was that girl. Keep  an eye on Scarlett Johanson.

See Ya at the movies
