What A World
There are no Ghost in "Ghost World" just two mixed up teenage girls who are trying to adjust to life. Thora Birch and Scarlett Johanson star as the teenagers, and they give great performances.
Thora conjures up a deep friend-ship with an older man, a collector of old Jazz and Blues records (Played by Steve Buscemi). She lives with her Father & Step-Mother, and some how just doesn't fit in with this life, or this world for that matter.
Added into this great story is an old man who keeps sitting on a bench waiting for a bus that doesn't run anymore. Thora knows how he feels, she wants out of her mixed up life, but there is no way out.
Scarlett Johanson is also a fine actress. She is new to me, but left a lasting impression.
They say "Ghost World" is based on an underground comic book. I would love to find a copy.
