40 Days & 40 Nights

A Film Review By Paul Perkins

A Funny Adult Comedy

Setting a goal is hard to do because there is always some one trying to make you break your goal. In 40 Days & 40 Nights Matt Sullivan (Josh Hartnett) he has just broken off a long term relationship with his girlfriend Nicole (Vinessa Shaw) and he is very heartbroken about it and he can’t not stop thinking about her.

He never completes anything he starts so in order to forget about Nicole he does something he thought he would never here him say as well as every guy in the world. He will have no sex for the time of Lent that is 40 Days and 40 Nights. Of no sex, no touching, no kissing, no foreplay, no fooling around and no self-gratification. He works in an office designing websites and his buddies begin to take bets as to how long he can abstain- girls join in the fun too.

While all of this he meets the girl of his dreams name Erica (Shannyn Sossamon) who is sexy and spirited and who drives Matt wild. Now with everyone betting  that  he can’t possibly finish what he’s started, he just tries to hold on and is left hoping she’s willing to hold out.

40 Days & 40 Nights was much better than I thought it would be. The story was very good and I like the basic idea of the film. It is a film that every guy can relate to. This film had a good meaning about life and setting goals for your life.

The film did not drag at all. The film held my attention from start to finish. The way the characters were shown and how one man was willing to trying anything to succeed was the main premise of the film. The cast was very good Josh Hartnett did a good job of playing the guy who takes the plunge. He made the role believable and you could feel him to do his best. Shannyn Sossamon did a good job as well in her second role in her film career her first film was "A Knight's tale".

This is an adult comedy with a lot of T& A, which was a surprise because most films lately that has T& A they never have it this one does. This is a film that anyone adult who is in a relationship or just broken off one can relate to and will like. You will laugh lot and you will feel empathy for the characters.
