A Film Review By Paul Perkins
A Good Comedy-Buddy Film
Money
makes the world go around, but there is an old saying that says that money
is the route of all evil. A while ago there was a film called Money Talks that had
the same premise that this film has. The new film is called All about
the Benjamins and it is about a maverick bounty hunter Bucum Jackson (Ice
Cube) who refuses to take on a partner, Bucum’s got a real attitude. Although
his unorthodox methods of tracking down low-life criminals haven’t exactly
made him a favorite of the local cops, nonetheless he’s the top man on the
payroll at Martinez Bail Bonds.
Bucum’s
dream is to open his own private investigation firm, but for the time being
he’s stuck following the trail of small-time crooks, such as his current
assignment, Reggie Wright (Mike Epps). A slippery con artist, Reggie had
previously evaded Bucum’s elusive grasp.
The wild pursuit on which Reggie leads Bucum lands them both in the middle of a multi-million dollar diamond heist, with Reggie unexpectedly finding himself in the back of the getaway van driven by cold-hearted jewel thieves Ursula (Carmen Chaplin) and her partner Ramose (Roger Guenveur Smith) As Reggie and Bucum must team together and find what the Jewel thieves are looking you know this is going to be a funny & crazy mission.
All
about the Benjamins was a very funny buddy
action movie. This is the first type of film for the New Year; last year we had Rush
Hour 2, which was last year best comedy action film. This film will remind
you a lot of a film called Money Talks that came out a while ago and also stars
a comedian as its star.
The
story of All about the Benjamins is pretty good because there are a lot of
comedic
moments in the film and there is some quick action scene. But this is a film that
you mostly want to go see it because of the comedy of Mike Epps and Ice Cube.
The
cast was good and the comedy team of Ice Cube and Mike Epps was very good and much
better than their last film which they did together it was called Next Friday. All
about the Benjamins had a lot of funny one lines mostly by Mike Epps who is
also a comedian before he became an actor. The jokes did not drag out or become boring or stupid. Which sometimes in comedy film they tend to get stupid. The
only negative thing that could be said about the movie lies in the fact
that some of the themes are similar to an older flick called Money Talks
