A Film Review By Paul Perkins
A Very Funny Family Film
Revenge films and comedy films are my favorite types of
films. Early in the year we seen a film called The Count of Monte Cristo that
dealt with revenge. Now we have Big Fat Liar, which deals with revenge
but in a comedy home alone kind of way.
For Jason Shepherd (Frankie Muniz) one of the biggest liars
in his class. Just when he thought everyone believes everything he says. He gets
in trouble in school and must make an essay to not go to summer school. So when
he tries to go on the right track he writes an essay called Big Fat Liar.
But on the way to school he meets a big time producer
called Marty Wolf (Paul Giamatti( so when Jason gets out of his car he dos not
know he left his essay in the car so Marty finds it and decides to make a big
summer blockbuster film and take all the credit. So Jason must take the law to
his own has as he travels to Los Angeles with his best friend Kaylee (Amanda
Bynes) to Make Marty life and business a living hell as it going to be a funny
trip.
Big Fat Liar was a funny film for some reason I like
these types of films. Where we feel for the victim and what him to get revenge
the story was very funny, the film kind of remind me of Home Alone just not with
a house and a kid alone. The way the jokes were played out was funny. Like with
the dye in the pool was very funny.
The cast was good Frankie Muniz did a good job as the kid
who seeks revenge on the producer. This is another good role for him like his
last film called My Dog Skip. Amanda Bynes did a good job as well as the best
friend. The supporting cast was good and funny.
Big Fat Liar had a ton of adverting for Universal
films being that part of the film takes place on their back lot. So you will see
a lot of props from their other films. Example Josie and the Pussycats
was the other film that had a ton of production placement. But Big Fat Liar
is not as bad as Josie and the Pussycats Josie did it too much.
