Surf Up Get Ready For All The Water Action
Lately we have seen a lot of movie on different types
of sports, like The Fast and the Furious that dealt with street racing.
There was Ultimate x which showcase e the extreme games that was held in
Philadelphia.
Next up to bat is Blue Crush, which is a story set
against Ladies, surfing. For Ann Marie (Kate Bosworth) her life is one big pipe
dream. The reality she wants is to win the biggest event in surfing. The Pipe
masters competition, which is on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii
The only problem is that she is afraid that she will drown
and that she is not the best of the best. But her two best friend’s ad well as
fellow surfers, Even (Michelle
Rodriguez) and Lena (Sanoe Lake). Every day they train Ann Marie for the
pipeline as well as working as maids in a luxury resort hotel. Along the way she
falls for a football star Matt Tollman (Matthew Davis). She has a choice to make
do she follow her heart or her dreams.
To be honest while I was walking into the theater I was
thinking this film is going to be so bad. Well what do I think now after seeing
the film? Well I guess I was wrong I can admit it, the film was actually pretty
good.
The story was good, This is a girl powered movie as well as
a movie about following your dreams no matter what the odds are is a good choice
for this type of film. The surf scenes are great when watching the film check it
out in a theater with a great sound system as well as a good big screen. Because
with the waves and the wipeout it will look great in a great movie theater sit
right in the middle of the theater to get the best effect.
The acting was ok not the greatest acting I have seen in
film. But it was watch able, the one that stole the show was Kate Bosworth when
she was on the screen she stole the scene. For the guys there is a lot of eye
candy, which is a nice touch, but what was nice that the director did not make
this film just an eye candy film. He made these characters strong and smart
minded and very independence, the girls do not need help from any of the guys in
the film.
The only thing I did not like about the story was the love
story. They always have to have a love story in the film. And in this film it
was so predictable and boring and the main football player don’t even look
like a football player/
Overall Blue Crush was a good move to watch as the summer is almost ending get ready for some great waves shots and remember to sit in the middle of the theater to get the full effect of the waves scenes.
