A Film Review By Paul Perkins
The Film Started Good But Then Got Very Predictable
There is a saying that goes there is a thin line between
being sane or insane. This film will make think about that saying. Frailty
is the directing debut by Bill Paxton. The film centers on a father (Bill
Paxton) and his tow sons Fenton and Adam (Matthew
McConaughey, Matthew O'Leary).
He seems like a good father he is raising the kids all by
his self, everything seems to be doing well. Then all of a sudden he gets a
vision from what he think is a angel telling him that he wants he to do a job
for him. The job you may be wondering is to kill demons.
But to us these demons are
regular people that he thinks he has to take out. The angel tells him to wear
gloves when he looks for them because when he take off the gloves and touches
them he will see there true from.
His older son doesn’t believe
him and think he is crazy, so the film follows the family over the years and
make you ask this question. Is he crazy or a employee of God? You will have to
see the film to find out.
This is the first film that Bill
Paxton directed. The story was good and how the story progress through the
different family members. This is a film that has some suspense and some things
that will make you jump out of your seat.
This is a film that makes you
think of who is doing it and is the person or person’s who is doing it is
crazy or the person or person’s really getting a message to do what the person
or person’s is doing. The cast was very good Bill Paxton did a great job of
playing the father as well as directing this film. Mathew did a good job as well
as one of the sons.
This film would have gotten 3
stars but in some of the scenes mostly towards the end of the film it got very
predictable I knew what was going to happen. Granted I have seen a lot of film
in my lifetime but I like I film that I cannot guess and when the film ends I am
still thinking about the ending. This is a film I wish had a better ending
because up until the point I guess it, it was good but then it came crashing
down.
