A Film Review By Paul Perkins
A Good Start But A Horrible Way To End The Film
One thing we have seen over the years that kids are going
crazy they are doing drugs, stealing from there parents and killing other kids
over clothes and kids who make fun of them in school.
Murder by Numbers is about two kids who have just
crossed the line. For Cassie Mayweather (Sandra Bullock) a seasoned homicide
detective and crime scene specialist. When a young woman body is found in a
ditch in the woods in the coastal town of San Benito.
Cassie and her new partner Kennedy (Ben Chaplin). The two
detective try to find clues and pieces to put together the puzzle to see who
killed the young girl and why. Some of the evidence leads them to two guys
Richard Haywood (Ryan Gosling) and Justin Pendleton (Michael Pitt). Her instinct
thinks these kids are no good but the evidence does not show it. She has to
uncover the truth as well as hide ghost from her past before it too late for
justice.
Remember a film called Seven that came out a while
ago. I do it was a great film very dark with a great story and cast. Murder By
Numbers kind of remind me of that film but it is not as good as that film.
The idea of the film was pretty good and how the director
shows us the characters and how they think and interact with each other it make
you think can some one do what they did in this film. It shows the mindset of
cops and what they do to find you did the crime.
The acting in the film was good Sandra Bullock did a great
job in her role. Sandra Typical films are comedy but when she breaks out from
comedy and do action and drama films she usually does a great job. It her other
films that she did good in are Speed and The Net, Murder by Numbers can be added
to the list of her good acting job.
The film runs about 2 hours and after the first 1:45 mins
it stars to drag out. Think of Murder by Numbers as a roller coaster ride the
first 1:45 mins are great like going down a big hill but they you have to go up
a big hill and it drags so much that the last 15 mins of the film. This hurt the
film a lot the film was going great but then the ending I never saw a cheesy
ending to a good film in such a long time.
