A Film Review By Paul Perkins (Film Info Click Here)
A Cute Romantic Comedy
Sometime the path you chose in life is not always the best
path to take do you realized it before it too late or do you do nothing? For
American Sweetheart Melanie Carmichael (Reese Witherspoon) who is a New York
fashion designer.
Her life seems to be perfect; she is about to marry one of
the city eligible bachelors Andrew (Patrick Dempsey) everything seems to be
going great. But a little problem has just surface. She is still married to her
high school sweethearts Jake (Josh Lucas).
Who happens to live back south and he doesn’t what a
divorced and his is going to make her life a living hell. Because you can take
the girl out the south but you can never take the south out of the girl.
Sweet Home Alabama was a very good tearjerker of a
film. I can admit it I cried a little because it made me think of my e-wife. Any
one who went through what the husband went thru in this film you can relate to
this film. The story was ok kind of predictable but with this type of film you
an overlook it. These Romantic comedies are more on centering on the characters
more then the story. You have to feel for the character so the meaning of the
film and take it tolls on you.
The acting was very good esp. by Reese Witherspoon, she has
became a great actress and is good in mostly all the film she in. The cast had
nice chemistry together which made the film more believable. The only thing bad
about the film is the predictable but I can overlook it. It doesn’t take too
much away from the film.
If you are looking for a good romantic comedy to take you love one to or to remember your old love one this is the film for you. Just remember to bring tissues.
