A Film Review By Paul Perkins
A Film For The Whole Family; Should Not Be Miss
Dreams we all have them the object of a dream is to try
your best to make it a reality if the dream of course is a good one. If you have
a dream never give up on it no matter how you life is going. This is the premise
behind The Rookie.
For Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid) had a dream of becoming a
personal baseball player. But his dream was shatter when he blew out his
shoulder and had to retired without ever making it to the big league. He is now
a coach to a high school baseball team in Texas. He is married and has kids and
his life is going good.
But his team is not doing so well in the League; but in
1999, Coach Morris made a bet with his team that would change everything. To
motivate the team he accepts their challenge. If they win the district
championship, Morris would in return try out for the Major Leagues.
The Rookie was a moving picture about the human
spirit and how you never forget about your dreams and never give up on making
them happen. The story was very good it take the sport Baseball adds in a story
about following your dreams and they throw in a good cast and you get The
Rookie.
The Rookie story was very good this is coming from
someone who doesn’t like baseball but when it is like this film I can like the
sport. The story is a film that you can relate to and feel for the characters of
the story. Granted if you are not a baseball fans it may take a little from the
film. But this is a film that anyone who has dreams which I now everyone does
should see it.
The cast was very good Dennis Quaid was very good in his
role and you could believe that he is a baseball player and could play very
good. The supporting cast was very good as well they remind me of the supporting
cast of another sport film called Remember the Titans, which is also base
on a true story, as is The Rookie.
