A Film Review By Paul Perkins
What Year Would You Go To
Time is one of life mystery, if you could go back in time
would you, what time would you go back to and what would you change there.
The Time Machine is base on the classic science fiction
novel by H.G Wells; this new version is about a scientist and inventor Alexander
Hartdegen (Guy Pearce) who loves his job as a schoolteacher and inventor of new
gadgets.
When a tragic event happens in his life he becomes isolated
and determined that he has the answer of time travel. Testing his theories with
a time machine of his own invention. Hartdegen is hurtled 800,000 years into the
future, where he discovers that mankind has divided into the hunter and the
hunted.
The Time Machine was a good movie it a new telling
of a classic movie that came out in the 60”s I never seen the classic movie I
cannot judge it by the classic so it judge solely on this film.
The story was good the idea of Time Travel is very cool it
asks the question can it happen in real life. The story was told and the action
of what happen when you change time was good it made a point in the film. The
special effects is the best part of the film, the way the monster look was very
good they kind of remind me of the monsters in the film Congo. The monster
interacts with the humans and the way they ran and jump was very cool looking.
The time travel screen was very cool looking it was like
opening a book and flipping trough the pages real fast and see frame by frame
they show when he goes from year to year and how the planted look and ended up
it was very cool. The cast was good and the main star is Guy Pearce who was also
in Last year hit Memento. Samantha Mumba was good in her first role in films.
This film has been post to come out last year but because
of the tragic events on Sep 11 they cut out some of the film. The main scene was
a meteor that hits New York and I heard that it hits the World Trade Center.
