A Film Review By Paul Perkins
A Cool, Slick and Very Funny Film
He cool, he slick and he gets all the ladies; he is The
Undercover Brother (Eddie Griffin). He is a man of action that has lived by
his own rules ever since he heard his first Parliament Funkadelic Groove.
But a new force is threaded life, as we know it. The force
is called The Man; his weapon of destruction is a top secret weapon; A Drug that
will reduce the entire population to mindless Zombies.
There is only one group brave enough that can try to stop
him; they are called The B.R.O.T.H.E.R.H.O.O.D. The group has been tracking The
Man whereabouts and is now ready for a showdown. They now need there own secret
weapon; the one crime fighter cool enough. He has to infiltrate the enemy on the
street. His name is Undercover Brother and it is going to be a mission he
will never forget.
Going into Undercover Brother I did not know what to
expect. Base on the trailer it look funny but look stupid. But when the lights
dimmed down and the film started. It started with a great opening music I new I
was in for a fun movie experience. I couldn’t stop dancing in my seat to the
music.
From the opening scene until the ended scene the film I
could not stop laughing it was so funny. To describe the film; think I am
going to get you Sucka mix in a little of A Living Color the TV series,
Throw in some gadgets from Bond Films and last but not least throw in a great
cast and hit music and you got Undercover Brother.
Malcolm d. Lee did an outstanding job on Undercover
Brother. How the film was so funny and how basically he made fun of everything
and everyone. Of course he may get some people mad but remember this is a movie.
But even so it is funny and does make funny of stuff at the end there is a
message about life and happiness.
Some of the side jokes were very funny. They range from
Spike Lee to OJ Simpson. None of the jokes was too stupid or overplayed out. The
acting was very good Esp. by Eddie Griffin.
Believe it or not Chris Kattan was also good in his role
which he is funny some time is other films. The two main ladies Denise Richards
and Aunjanue Ellis look very nice as usually and were very good in their roles.
But what was nice the director did make them just eye candy they were tough and
kicked but just as much as the men in the film.
The supporting cast was also very funny. The film length
was just right not too long or short and it held my attention from start to
finish.
