A Film Review By Paul Perkins
One of the Greatest War Film Ever
War is a big part of our history. There have been many battles for our freedom and way of life. We Were Soldiers is one of the wars.
In a place soon to be known as The Valley of Death, in a
small clearing called landing zone X-Ray, Lt. Colonel Hal Moore and 400 young
fathers, husbands, brothers, and sons, all troopers from an elite American
combat division, were surrounded by 2,000 North Vietnamese soldiers. The ensuing
battle was one of the most savage in U.S. history. (Quoted From Imdb)
If I could sum up two words to describe this film is would
be Outstanding, Unforgettable. Lately Hollywood has been releasing a lot of War
film like Black Hawk Down, Hart’s War and now We Were
Soldiers. There hasn’t been a Great War film since Saving Private Ryan
well look no further We Were Soldiers is hand down one of the best War film that
is right next to Saving Private Ryan. Like most war films this is base on
a true story.
Black Hawk Down centers on just the war but this film it
centers on the war as well as character development. The picture is so moving
you feels for the family’s as well as the soldiers. The director shows us the
war on both sides and how it affects families and love one of the soldiers. It
show not matter what side you on war is war people will die there is no winners.
The war scenes were outstanding the way the director made
the scenes look and sound was outstanding. For the fate of heart some of the
scenes were very violent and bloody so if you do not like that you will need to
cover your eyes, because it is graphic
