A Film Review By Paul Perkins (Film Info Click Here)
Some Great Acting From A Upcoming Actress
The saying goes if a parent is bad then the kid can also
become the same way as the parent is. How you think some of the way the kids now
a day are like because they learn it from their parents. When you are a single
parent and something devastated happen it can affect your kid for their rest of
their life.
White Oleander tells the story of 15 years old
Astrid (Alison Lohman) who is very close to her artist mother Ingrid (Michelle
Pfeiffer) but there life is about to change for ever. Ingrid get arrested and
charger with murdering her boyfriend. She gets 35 years to life and Astrid get
put into a foster home.
Shuttled through a series of foster homes, Astrid struggles
to mast the techniques she need if she’s to survive and unyielding and often
harsh world she is thrust into. Astrid tries desperately to forge her own
identity within her every changing environment. From behind bars, Ingrid
powerful influence is the only constant in Astrid’s life. For good, and bad
Astrid must find out whom she and how she is going to become a young lady and
not end up like her mother.
White Oleander was a good movie it could have been a
better film if it was not for one thing will tell you all in a sec. The acting
was one of the best parts of the film. The best part is by Alison Lohman she did
an outstanding job in this type of role. Which is a hard role to play I could
not believe how great she does in this type of role she stand out with some of
the big name actors.
The story was ok it did drag a little but with the great
performance by Alison you can over look it. The main problem I had with the film
is the Michelle Pfeiffer character. We know Michelle looks great right guys. But
she post to be in prison she look like she just walk off a fashion runway. Their
one screen where she looks like she was in a fight it looks so fake looking. It
took away from the film it would have gotten a higher rating it she look more
like what she should look like in prison.
Overall White Oleander was a good movie it could have been better but be on the look out for this great upcoming actress name Alison Lohman she was great it this film.
