A Good Thriller

Looking for that perfect house it a big thing in you life to do, When you look for that special house do you look for the biggest one there is on the block or one that is reasonable price. It a hard decision to make but what you don’t want to know too much is the history of the house who was the last family that lived there and do they have any secrets.

Cold Creek Manor deals with one family buying their dream house. For the Tilson family Cooper (Dennis Quaid), Leah (Sharon Stone), Kirsten (Kirsten Stewart) and Jess (Ryan Wilson). They hate the Big City life and hate having to raising there two kids in that type of life. So they packs up there kids and all of the stuff they own and move into a mansion in the New York State.

The house they move into is a dream house once was a elegant big Manson called Cold Creek Manor but not it run down but the Tilson family has a lot of time on their hands and a lot of money to fix it up to make it look like it was back in it glamour days. The house seems perfect but like anything in life nothing is perfect. As Cooper finds clues to make him wonder who lived in the house before him and what dark secrets are hidden inside.

Cold Creek Manor was an interesting kind of thriller, but it was nothing like I thought it was going to be. The trailer makes me think it was like a haunted house type of movie but it is not but enough with me complaining. The movie itself kind of remind me of couple of other great film like, The Ring, Volcano and Aracaphonebia. The story held my attention from start to finish with the good acting and the great scenery of the house and all the land.

The acting was good mostly By Dennis Quaid who is a great actor but he is not a big actor that he really should be. Sharon Stone was also great in her role and it mark a return of the actress who has not been a film in a little while. Stephen Dorff was a good villain as he was in the Blade film. Also Juliette Lewis was also in Cold Creek Manor and look very different could not tell it was Her is some screens, she did well in her role which was not a big part.

The film did not drag at all and held my attention from start to finish. For the thriller parts of the film you will jump in a couple of screens but like I said before this is not a haunted house movie like The Haunting film. This is more like Pacific Heights movie. I wish it was a haunted house movie it would be a cool house to make one in. Overall with a great cast, great story and some thrilling moments thrown into the film it makes a good film to check out this weekend, this is one film not to miss.
