A Good Cast

You on the internet looking for the best bargain you get you hands on, you find it a nice look lamp you send the person 200 and then you wait, and wait, and wait until you wonder what happen to the money or the lamp, well someone has just con you out your hard earn money it happen a lot nowadays.

Matchstick Men centers on a couple of people who do that con people. Roy (Nicholas Cage) and Frank (Sam Rockwell) looks like you typical door to door salesmen someone who will sell you anything that you really don’t need or really want. But these men are not your typical salesmen that will sell you something but it will be nothing what you really get. They are con men Matchstick Men.

They sell water filtration systems out of their office, but they are looks for the best scam to do and they think they have found it. But Roy life comes crashing down as he a daughter comes looking for him and live with him for some of the summer he has to change his own life which is very crazy because he has an obsessive-compulsive disorder and he smokes cigarettes like it no tomorrow. He has come across the biggest scam of his life as it going to be a scam he will never forget as well as be the father he was never.

Matchstick Men was much better then I thought it would be, when watching the trailer I thought I hope they don’t make it too sappy with the father and daughter relationship and keep it up beat with some comedy and great performances. Well they did the film the right way with a blend of comedy, a little bit of action, with a touch of suspense and blend all with great performers’ buy everyone.

Nicolas Cage and Sam Rockwell was a perfect con artist team they had the part to the tee and if they were at your door selling something you would defiantly buy it. Alison Lohman did another great job in this role as she did in the film White Oleander which was her first starting role.

The film held my attention from start to finish and it did not get boring at all. The director who has done some many great film is his directing life like Gladiator, Black Hawk Down and Aliens can add Matchstick Men to the list this is a great film and Sir Ridley Scott did an outstanding job and the ending was outstanding and was a surprise.

Overall Matchstick Men is a nice film to open the Fall movie season and this is a film that everyone will like go check it out today.
