National Security

A Film Review By Paul Perkins         (Film Info Click Here)

You Have The Right To Laugh

If National Security came out when Rodney King was beaten by the cops, or when the OJ trail was happing this film problely would had some protest because of couple of the screens. But that was a while ago.

Hollywood  loves the buddy comedy movies and movies goers do to. Just look at The Rush Hours Films which blend comedy and action. This year we will see a lot action-comedy movies come out. First up is National Security.

This film is about L.A Cop wantabee Earl Montgomery (Martin Lawrence) who would probably a great cop if he wasn't so much a show off. So after a run-in with an uptight police officer, Hank Rafferty (Steve Zahn), Earl accuses him of harassment and they both end up as security for National Security.

As a big heist in happing under there noses they must try to find the bad guys with getting killed or be killed by each other. January is the month the studios put out the stuff that may be on the shelf for a while, or films that they know it won't make money basically the bad films. This is the third film i seen of the new year and it was good. The track record is 2 good 1 bad.

National Security is a funny film is not one of Martin Best film like Bad Boys but it is still good. When watching a Martin film you know you are in for a laugh, with this film does not disappoint. The only problem martin seems to use some of the same stuff in all his movies.

Some of the jokes were very funny, some was ok and some was old. The acting was good no Oscar winning acting but you don't expect it be in this type of film.. Martin and Steve did a good job in their role and seems the right choice for the roles.

The film did not drag at all and was just the right length for the comedy and action parts. Overall National Security was a funny action-comedy buddy movie check it out with you buddy today.
