The Italian Job

A Film Review By Paul Perkins         (Film Info Click Here)

This Is One Job You Will Really Want To Go To

There are many crooks in this world some are slick, some are stupid, and some are great at their jobs as is these crooks in the new film called The Italian Job center on a group of thief’s Charlie (Mark Wahlberg), Steve (Seth Green), Rob (Jason Statham), Left-Ear (Mos Def) and veteran John Bridger (Donald Sutherland).

They had a flawless plan; their next job was executed perfectly, with a perfect escape. But they were not expecting what was going to happen next. The group can’t believe it when one of them turns out to be a double-crosser. Now the job isn’t about the payoff, it’s about the payback.

New to the group is Stella (Charlize Theron) who is a beautiful safe cracker and who also wants to catch the double crosser because of personal reason. They follow the backstabber to L.A and come up with a plan re steal the stuff as well as get even from the backstabber as it going to be a chase that they and you will never forget.

The Italian Job is a remake of a 1969 classic with the same name. I never seen the 1969 version but if it as good as this one I can’t wait to see it on video. Action movie are a dime a dozen you may have seen a lot of them I know I have. When an action film has racing, gold and backstabbers in the plot you know it can become a good film or a bad film it all depends how the director tells the story.

Well The Italian Job has everything in it that make it a great 4 ½ stars film. One is the racing scenes they do some great scenes on the street of L.A and other places you don’t except to see racing scenes. Also the scenes do have race cars they use Mini Coops which looks so cool I wish I had a lot of money I would love to buy one but most likely would not be able to fit in one.

Second is the plot of course you may be saying you have seen this type of story before granted you may have. But in this telling it was kind of different because of the stunts of the film. Third is the acting, the acting was good and everyone was good in their parts none of the cast slow the pace of the film down. Charlize and Mark had the bigger parts in the film and did well in their roles. Third the film did not drag at all and held my attention from start to finish. When I seen the sneak preview of this film everyone in the theaters was getting into this film and clapping and laughing at some of the scenes. When I left the theater young and old people was saying this was good film.

Overall I am going to keep this review short The Italian Job is a must see movie of the summer movie season. If some one tells you different don’t believe them this is a film that have everything you expect a great film to have. You will get your money worth with this film check it out today.
