A Home Run!

This is the story of Stan Ross, one of the best Baseball players that ever lived. Mr Ross plays for a team known as the Brewers. This man can really hit a ball, and he knows it, in fact, he makes sure everyone knows it. He is so self centered, he doesn't care for anyone but Stan Ross, Now comes the big moment of his life, he reaches 3000 hits. Now he is ready to retire. At his farewell speech, he tells everyone he ever worked with what he thinks  of them, and in not very nice terms. This is the time to go into business for himself, and in a very big way. He opens his very own shopping center where every store is named 3000.    Then one day he is told he will be entered into the Baseball Hall Of Fame, for being the great 3000 hitter. Now, to be eligible, the powers to be must check every detail of your background in the sport. In doing so, they discover that Mr. big shot is 3 hits short of 3000. Now he is fired up, he must hit the other three ti redeem himself. He goes back to the brewers where he is faced with taunts, jeers, and a young upstart player called T- Rex, who is the new Mr. Baseball. Also, he must deal with an old love in life, a beautiful reporter named Mo. In the process of all this he learns humility and respect for other people's feelings.

I loved this movie, because it is not only very funny, but has depth and humanity.    Stan Ross is played by the wonderful BERNIE MACK. He has played roles in 'Bad Santa,'  'Head Of State' and he also had his own hit T.V. show on Fox. He mow proves that he can carry a movie on his own,   Mo is played by the beautiful and talented ANGELA  BASSETT, who looks like a teenager. It's hard to believe that a few years ago she was Tina Turner in 'What's Love Got To Do With It'.    This wonderful film was directed by Charles Stone 111, who helmed one of the best films of a couple of years ago, 'Drumline'. Well, he's done it again.  You'll have a good time here. It's a feel good movie.                                    SEE YA AT THE MOVIES
