A Film Review By Paul Perkins (Film Info Click Here)
Spanglish Translates Into Outstanding
Well this is the second movie I saw that makes me happy I am divorced because love is a hard thing to do. Spanglish is the new film that dealt with a lot of issues that being in love can happen.
Spanglish – a look at cultures colliding as a beautiful native Mexican woman Flor (Paz Vega), the mother of an equally stunning 12-year-old girl, a golden child, becomes the housekeeper for an affluent Los Angeles family (Adam Sandler, Téa Leoni and Cloris Leachman). Of all the horrifying pitfalls she worried about in this new culture, Flor had never fathomed the peril of being truly embraced by an upscale American family.
Walking into Spanglish I was saying I hope this not a typical Adam Sandler film. Don’t get me wrong I like his film but they are slapstick comedy and by the trailer of this film it looks more like a drama. Then my mind was thinking about Punch Drunk Love and how awful that film was, so it made me kind of depress I was thinking I hope this film does not suck.
Well after seeing this film I have to say You are forgiven Adam for Punch Drunk Love this is one very funny and some time depressing Comedy which it a much to see for anyone who in a relationship or just broken up from one.
The story was very interesting and it held my attention from start to finish. But what made the film great is the charters, there is the Father of the house who tries to keep the family together, the wife who has some inner issues that drives everyone crazy including us the people watching the film, the daughter who has a weight problems only to her mom and trying to deal with it, the grandmother who stole the show who drink all hours of the day and some great one-liners and last but not least is the new house keeper who you can not stop watcher her on screen. Which got remind me of Penelope Cruz.
Any one who like Adam Sandler movies will like this one but don’t go into the theater think this is another The Water boy which is one of his best films. This film is not a comedy it a romantic comedy and to be hones one of his best film and let all forgive him for Punch Drunk Love please Adam don’t make any more film like that one again. What Did You Think About The Film E-mail us Your Comments About The Film
