The Alamo

A Film Review By Paul Perkins         (Film Info Click Here)

Remember The Alamo

One of the historic battles in American history happen in the spring of 1836 when one of the most intense battles happen in a state called Texas in a place called The Alamo.

The Alamo is a tale of a handful of men who stood up for what they believed in and made the ultimate sacrifice against an overwhelming force. It happen in the spring of 1836 when more then 200 ordinary men who believe in the future of Texas. Held the fort for 13 days against thousands of Mexican soldiers led by Dictator General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna ruler of Mexico.

The Alamo was a good movie not bad as people who seen it before me said it was. The story was done before and this new version is nothing new. But what makes this one good is the acting I thought the acting was very good Esp. by Billy Bob Thornton who plays the legendary David Crockett.

Also the rest of the cast was pretty good there was Dennis Quaid as Gen. Sam Houston who was great in his role there was also Jason Patric as Col. James Bowie. The problem I see with The Alamo is the length it is a tad bit too long some of the scenes they could have cut them just a tad and still made their point. I heard in the before they cut it to 2 hr 10 mins the film was over 4 hours. Which I say thank god that would be too long of a movie and it would get very boring.

The scenery was pretty good and the costumes was also very much in detail and seems to be very well made. The fight scenes were good but not great some of the screens did look like it was stage but some look great. I have never seen any of the other film that were about the Alamo but I thought this version was good. People told me the other version was better. But I cannot make that determination.

Overall this weekend is a busy time for movies there is 4 movies that’s came out this weekend and The Girl Next Door is the best of the weekend, The Alamo is the second best for this weekend so check it out today.
