CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE FORGETFUL KIND

In "The Forgotten" we find a Mother who is trying to find her missing son, who no one else seems to remember and claims he never was. The Mother, Telly , who is a Brooklyn freelance editor, played by the overrated JULIANNE MOORE, is consicered by her husband, ( ANTHONY EDWARDS)  and her Doctor ( the wonderful GARY SINISE) to be suffering from a wishful imagination.  Everything about her son is vanishing, pictures toys, everything, Even her husband tells her there was no son.

She goes to visit a man, DOMINIC WEST, who she claims had a daughter who was friends with her boy, The two children were put on a plane headed for camp and were never heard from again. At first he doesn't remember, but in time he recalls everything. He runs to help her and they are stopped by two stern looking men who claim to be Government agents. To add to this, they are being watched by a mysterious man, who it seems cannot be stopped. He is hit by a car and shot at, with no results. Also in this mess is Anne Pope, a police detective who has bonded with  Telly and discovers things to make her believe.         In one scene, Telly meets her husband on the street, he doesn't know her.  I guess the enemy got to him, they never explain who the enemy is or where they are from.  Well, Telly and her male friend discover everything, but we don't.   It all ends well, but where is her husband?  They forgot about him.                                      There are a couple of moments that made me jump, but not enough  for me to recommend this movie. This mess was directed by JOSEPH RUBEN (Sleeping With The Enemy) a better movie.     SEE YA AT THE MOVIES         CLYDE
