Wicker Park

A Film Review By Clyde Ayles         (Film Info Click Here)

MORE TWISTS THAN A BOX OF PRETZELS

Get out your pad and pencil when you go to see "WICKER PARK'. Sometimes following this film is like trying to read a road map when you have never read one before. I really liked this movie once I found out how to follow the plot. It is a love story with a little suspense , a little Hitchcock, and a little Twilight Zone. It involves a young man (Josh Harnett) who sees a girl, then goes on to pursue her. Well, he meets her, gets a date, then takes her home. the next day, he goes to visit, only to find that the girl he thought  he was going to see is not the girl he is now speaking to, although both have the same name Lisa. The Lisa he is now speaking to claims that  is the occupant of the apartment. He has a one night stand with her. Two years later, he gets engaged to another girl, but sees something that reminds him of the first Lisa. Now he is on a quest to find her again. Complicating this whole thing is his best friend (Matthew Lillard of Scooby Doo fame). There are flashbacks to help you understand what you just saw, this helps. Just stick with it and you will come out saying," I do  understand it and it was pretty good'   The first Lisa is played by the attractive actress Diane Kruger, last seen in TROY. I can't say much more without giving away the whole outcome of the film
