Boogeyman

A Film Review By Clyde Ayles         (Film Info Click Here)

HEEEEERE'S BOOGEY!

The ad reads that "Boogeyman" is by the same producers who gave us "The Grudge".  Well, you can  tell.  They are almost cut from the same cookie cutter. They are both nothing more than a ride through a haunted house. Now this doesn't mean this is awful.  There are some really scary jump from your seat moments, but the story is so thin that it must have been written on tracing paper.Boogeyman starts in the bedroom of a little 8 year old boy named Tim. We are treated to some annoying camera work that is supposed to be scary.  We find that Timmy sees the boogeyman in his closet.  Daddy comes in the room to prove that there is nothing in the closet. He opens the door, the loud music gets louder, and no more daddy. Now we move to 15 years later.  Tim now has a steady girl named Jessica, but he is still haunted by memories of that night.   He gets word that his mother has died, so off to the funeral he goes. After, he goes back to the old house. As he stands outside and looks at the house, we think it looks like the Ammityville Horror house. No wonder the boogey man chose to live there.   All kinds of strange things happen inside.  He meets a little girl named  Franny. She informs him she knows the boogeyman killed his dad.   They know that when you think of the boogeyman, you should cont to five. Didn't we see something like this in Candyman a few years ago?   But what happens if you count to six?  Stayed tuned, you will find out.   The two stars? in this film are LUCY LAWLESS, remember her?  and BARRY WATSON from TVs 7th Heaven.           SEE YA AT THE MOVIES   CLYDE
