A Film Review By Paul Perkins
Four Times The Action, Four Times The Fun
Well the Fourth of July has just pass and most of you mostly likely went to see fireworks in you local town. I know I did but it was in the back of the video store which I work at. But even so the Fourth has passed it about to come back again on the 8th but not in the sky! But in you local movie theater you are going to see some outstanding fireworks.
There will be some big flame fireworks, stone fireworks, invisible fireworks and elastic fireworks. If you are wondering what I am talking about these are the characters in the new best comic book to film called Fantastic Four.
Inventor, astronaut and scientist Dr. Reed Richards’ (Ioan Gruffudd) lifelong dream is close to being realized. He is spearheading a trip to outer space, to the center of a cosmic storm. There he hopes to unlock the secrets of the human genetic codes for the benefit of all humanity.
Reed’s crew for the mission includes his best friend, astronaut Ben Grimm (Michael Chiklis); Sue Storm (Jessica Alba), Von Doom’s director of genetic research and Reed’s ex-girlfriend; and Sue’s hot-headed younger brother, pilot Johnny Storm (Chris Evans). With benefactor Von Doom in tow, the four set off for the exploration of a lifetime.
The mission is uneventful – until Reed discovers a miscalculation of the speed of the approaching storm. Within minutes, the event threshold is upon them. The space station is engulfed by turbulent clouds of cosmic radiation which genetically transforms the crew. Their DNA is irrevocably altered…and so is their future.
Well I am not a comic book fan to be honest I never read that many comic books but like our other critic here at The King’s Room after seeing this film I have to check out one of the Fantastic Four comic books because if the books is like the movie it will be one hell of a book. What made the film good was couple of things, the first was the story I like the idea of the story and how it center on each of the character special powers, next is the acting everyone In the film was great in there roles, third is the special effects which was outstanding and did not look to cgi like most film that has cgi in it, fourth the film was very funny some great one liners mostly from the flame and rock characters. And last but not least the film has Jessica Alba in it what more do you want and this is for the guys out there is one nice screen you don’t want to miss. TRUST ME.
Overall Fantastic Four is one Summer Blockbuster movie you don’t want to miss and it worth every penny of the Admission price don’t miss it check it out today.
