A Film Review By Clyde Ayles
A MOTHER'S FEAR
Kyle Pratt (JODIE FOSTER) is traveling from Berlin to New York on a brand new state of the art jet. With her is her young daughter Julia (the adorable MARLENE LAWSTON, in her feature debut). They are traveling with a casket containing the body of Kyle's husband who recently passed away. Kyle worked in the plant that made this huge plane, helping to assemble the engines. During the flight, as she returns to her seat from the restroom, she finds that her daughter is missing. She inquires about her to the passengers, but no one remembers even seeing the girl. Even the attendants (ERIKA CHRISTENSEN, KATE BEAHAN) don't recall the missing child. Her name doesn't appear on the manifest. As the frustrated mother disrupts the entire plane, including the captain (SEAN BEAN, recently in "The Island" ), the air marshal takes over . PETER SARSGAARD is the marshal who tries to restrain her. This all leads to more and more nail bitting moments. Is there a highjack on board? Did her daughter really excist? As the tension mounts, you find yourself cheering for Kyle. What really happened to Julia? My only complaint is that the great Academy Award winning Ms. Foster does not make more films. She stated that her family life was more important. Directed by ROBERT SCHWENTKE.SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
