A Film Review By Clyde Ayles
ALMOST
I have been a fan of REESE WITHERSPOON ever since "Man In The Moon". She is perky, cute, and a very good little actress, both in comedy and drama. Could she be the next Doris Day? She lights of the screen any time she is there in this film. She plays Elizabeth, a doctor who is so dedicated to her work; she never goes home or dates. This leads to her boss to demand she go home and rest. This also gives her the chance to meet a blind date that her sister has set up for her. But on the way she crashes into the back of a truck that leaves her in a coma. Now we meet David (MARK RUFFALO) who is trying to recover from the loss of his wife. He moves into a nice little home that belonged to who? You guessed it. Elizabeth. As it happens, she is having an out of body experience. She comes home to find David there and demands he leave. Of course no one can see her but him. He seeks help from Darrryl, a bookstore worker who can sense an otherworldly presence. JON HEDER, so good in "Napoleon Dynamite" plays Darryl. There are some funny moments here. There is one scene where Elizabeth enters David's body in a bar. It reminded me of "All Of Me", the Steve Martin-Lily Tomlin flick from the 80s. This is a really nice film, directed by MARK WATERS (Mean Girls), but at the end it takes the same turn as many other movies of this sort. It turns sappy and sentimental. SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
