A Film Review By Clyde Ayles
PAY THE RANSOM & LAUGH
No, "King's Ransom" is not a wonderful top grade movie, but it isn't meant to be. It's meant to be a nice little comedy that will make you laugh. In my opinion, it works. ANTHONY ANDERSON, a funny actor who always makes my good list, (remember the A.T.M. scene in "Barbershop?), plays Malcolm King, a wealthy and arrogant businessman who's ex-wife is going to sue him for everything he has. He plans to stop this plan by having himself kidnapped; His girlfriend recruits her brother, fresh out of jail, to do the deed. In the meantime, his ex-wife talks her boyfriend into doing the job. Also on hand is JAY MOHR, a just fired costume wearer at a burger joint. He plans to kidnap King for his own gain. We also have a garage worker who takes King's car and pretends to be King to impress a girl. Get the picture? I found the whole thing to be a hoot. Besides Andrews we have REGINA HALL. Who will be in the upcoming "The Honeymooners" and LIELA ARCIERI. JEFF DYRD directed. SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
