Sahara

A Film Review By Paul Perkins

Good Action But A Tad Too Long

Well First we got Indiana Jones and The Raiders of The Lost Ark which is a very good movie and a classic to the art of movie making. Well that was then and now Hollywood is trying to recapture the magic that was back then.

First there was National Treasure which came out last year and it was outstanding and was a great time at the movies in a side note I met Jerry Bruckheimer at that screening. Well this year the film that trying to recapture the magic is Sahara and it does a littler but does not overpower the other films.

Sahara is about a group of treasures hunters Dirk Pitt (Matthew McConaughey) and Al Giordino (Steve Zahn) who is childhood best friends and work together finding treasures. But Dirk passion is finding a lost Civil War iron boat and he found a clue with the help of a doctor for the World Heath Organization Eva Rojas (Penelope Cruz), who is looking for the source of a new plague. So they sent out to find the boat and try not to get killed along the way.

Sahara was a good movie it had some fun times it did remind me of classic films of this type of movie. The only problems with Sahara is the time it a tad bit too long it could have a cut about 20 mins out and still keep us into the film. The acting was not bad by the main stars. Of course Penelope looks good in her role and I could listen to her for days. There were some funny one-liners mostly from Steve Zahn.

The Action was good some of the screen was very good and intense and had me on the edge of my seat. The film would be better if it just wasn’t so long. Overall Sahara is a good action adventure it could have been a little bit better but if you are looking for a good time at the movie check it out today.
