BOMBS AWAY
Big boom-booms, fast flying planes, a computer gone bad, awful dialogue and JESSICA BIEL in a bikini. Well, 1 out of 5 isn't bad. "Stealth", as directed by ROB COHEN ("The Fast and the Furious" and "XXX") is nothing more than an excuse for blowing up everything. The so called story concerns a list of three pilots who fly a new class of stealth fighters. We have Ben Gannon (JOSH LUCAS), Kara Wade (MS. BIEL), and Henry Purcell (JAMIE FOXX), who is wasted here. Their boss, Capt. George Cummings (SAM SHEPARD) informs them that they have a new partner, a UCAV (Unmaned Combat Ariial Vehicle), a computer brain the size of a large bowling ball that can fly one of the planes better than any human and talks like a lazy person trying to imitate Hal from 2001, Space Odyssey". Well, in one mission, this flying brain gets hit by lightning and his mind? Goes wacky. He now turns on his comrades. "Eddie is a fighter plane, Eddie must destroy" states the brain. He is nicknamed Eddie. The film takes the flyers all over the place, Rangoon to North Korea to Alaska. It should have stayed in the can. The camera work moves around so fast, you hardly see anything. I guess the best way to make up for a bad movie is to have many explosions, each one bigger than the other. At least Jamie Foxx exits the film early, lucky him SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
