The Dukes of Hazzard

A Film Review By Clyde Ayles
A BIG HAZZARD
This movie is one big mess that has been recorded on film. The Dukes TV. show was fun for a half hour a week, but a 1 hour 46 minute movie is a little much. There's a lot of publicity about JESSICA SIMPSON (Daisy Duke) starring in this mess. Well, she's there, but not the star. Her acting? , not there but who cares. She' great dressing. Then we have SEANN WILLIAM SCOTT as Bo Duke and JOHNNY KNOXVILLE as Luke Duke. Enough said on that. The story has Boss Hogg (BURT REYNOLDS) trying to take over the Duke's land so he can make it a large strip mine. He sponsors a big road rally to distract the community from attending a zoning meeting that could thwart his plans. Also on board is WILLIE NELSON as Uncle Jesse, who tells such bad jokes, I was looking for an air freshener to spray. Also, I have to say that watching the Duke's car, the General Lee, fly into the air once a week was fun. But I lost count of how many times it happens here. It's like when they ran out of some fresh ideas; they had the car take off to fill in time. I understand that the original TV. show is now on D.V.D. Go right out and get it now. Oh yes, this thing was directed by JAY CHANDRASEKHAR whose resume include "Super Troopers" and "Club Dread". Now that's something to be proud of. SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
