A Film Review By Clyde Ayles
BEWARE OF 3.00 A.M
This eerie film is, as they say, based on a true story. It is one of the scariest movies you will ever see. It seems that a young 19 year old college freshman, Emily Rose, was processed by not one, but several demons. JENNIFER CARPENTER plays Emily so well, you believe she is processed. A priest is sent by the catholic church to perform an exorcism. The girl dies and now the priest is on trial for murder. LAURA LINNEY is a lawyer who is sent to defend him, against her will. SCOTT CAMPBELL is the prosecutor who claims all she needed was medical treatment. The story is told in flashback during the court trial. The symbol of 3.00 a.m. means that the evil starts at that time, due to the fact Jesus was crucified at 3.00 p.m. Linney is told by her boss not to put the priest on the stand, the catholic church does not want this to happen. So you know she will do this anyway after a meeting with a doctor who was present at the exorcism and has a tape recording of the event. But the doctor does not show at the trial, wait until you see what happens to him. The film is meant to upset you at times, and it works. SCOTT DEMICKSON directed and what a job he did. There are many heart stopping moments. You will never look at 3.00 a.m. ever again.SEE YA AT THE MOVIES CLYDE
