A Film Review By Paul Perkins
A Touchdown All The Way
The Kick is good he on the 20 Yards line he running, running no one is stopping him, he can go all the way he jumps Touchdown. That is a family sound you usually hear during a football game. But lately some sports movie has been popping up at the multiplexes.
To be honest most of them have been pretty good last year we have Friday Night Lights which is more a drama then the next football movie to hit the big screen this week. It called The Longest Yard and it is a remake of a 1974 film with the same title. The 2005 film is about a convict who is a ex football player Paul Crewe (Adam Sandler).
Who takes his girlfriend car out for a little spin while drinking alcohol did I mention he is in a high speed chase with a dozen of cops. Because of this he is sent to prison for three but his time is not going to be easy. The warren of the prison has a football team who is very poplar upon prison it is his own guards who are the players. He wants Paul to bring a team together to play against the guard. So Paul makes up a team with convicts from the prison who all would love to get a chance to hurt the guards who guard them.
Well it is now summer time and Hollywood has started to bring out the big guns with the release of Star Wars Episode 3 last week in theaters it hard for some film to do well up against that film. But Memorial day is a big day for Hollywood with this year it a quite Memorial Day with only two film coming out and not of them are action movie.
But even so this will be one hell of a funny Memorial Day because The Longest Yard was a very funny movie and much different then I thought it would be by the movie trailer. This film is a remake I heard the 1974 film is more a drama than I comedy but after seeing this film I am going to check it out the 1974 film it is not available on DVD. Check it out at you local video store.
I am going to keep this review short, The Longest Yard is worth every dime of the admission price and if you are looking for a fun time this holiday weekend forget the beach go to the movie and check out The Longest Yard.
