A Film Review By Paul Perkins
This is One Key You Don't Want To Lose
Well finding a good horror or thriller film to check out in the theaters or on video is a hard thing to do because of all the bad films out there. In the theaters there is Devil Rejects which by the title alone it should have been rejected. On video there is Darkness and Boogeyman. So when a film comes out that is good and it better then the entire bad one that came out over this year then you have to check it out and see how it is.
The film is called The Skeleton Key and is about Caroline Ellis (Kate Hudson) who is a hospice worker who takes her job serious and is trying to save enough money to get to nursing school. So she takes a job she will never forget she is a live in caretaker for the elderly owner of an isolated plantation house an hour drive from her house.
But this house holds a secret and it has a Skeleton Key that opens every door in the house including one door that holds some secrets. Caroline finds out that the house have some voodoo powers which she does not believe in but the house may change her mind as this is one job she will not forget.
The Skeleton Key was a good thriller it does get a little slow telling the story but the ending pay offs and makes up for the slow parts. I like the idea of the film and how the director shows the characters. The acting was pretty good esp. by Kate Hudson I thought she did an good job of playing the role and you believe her when she is trying to find out the truth about the house.
This film is a not a scary movie this film is a thriller with some screens that will make you jump. But don’t walk into this film thinking it a horror movie if you do you will be disappointed.
Overall The Skeleton Key was a good thriller that has a great ending which you will like so check it out today.
