Wedding Crashers

A Film Review By Clyde Ayles

IT'S PARTYTIME

Watching "Wedding Crashers" is like being at a large group of party’s.  It's a hoot to watch. OWEN WILSON and VINCE VAUGHN play a pair of, what else, wedding crashers. They do this     as a way to meet and bed the ladies. It works. They start out by studying the guest list, figure whose side they are from, the bride or the groom, make up occupations, then proceed to charm the young ladies into the bedrooms.   Great job.   But BAM, a roadblock shows up when they crash the wedding reception of the oldest daughter of the all powerful Secretary of Treasury William Cleary (played by the wonderful CHRISTOPHER WALKEN).   When John (Wilson) spots the middle daughter of Cleary, Claire (RACHEL McADAMS) and starts to fall in love. In the meantime, Jeremy (Vaughn) has caught the eye of the Secretary’s other daughter (ISLA FISHER, who is very funny. She tries to seduce him in every way. He also catches the eye of the gay artist son who paints a nude picture of Jeremy in a really very funny scene.  As John moves closer and closer to Claire, her mean spirited fiancé (BRADLEY COOPER) tries every thing he can to put a stop to it, even hiring someone to check the back grounds of the two crashers so he can expose them. And he does just that.           The story turns sweet and syrupy at the end, but it works. There are tons of laughs, many of the raunchy kind, so don't take the kids.   My only drawback is the casting of JANE SEYMOUR as the horny mother who wants to expose her breasts. She's a class act. Why? SEE YA AT THE MOVIES   CLYDE
