White Noise

A Film Review By Paul Perkins         (Film Info Click Here)

Listen Carefully

Well it is 2005 and it the start of a new year full of movies well I hope it a good year of films. So the first film out in the theaters is called White Noise and it a scary movie on the line of the ring.

There is a new phenomenon that I never heard of until I read the production notes for this film. It called EVP which stands for Electronic Voice Phenomenon which is the process by which the dead, through sound and image, communicate with the living through the static and white noise of modern electronic devices.

For successful Architect Jonathan Rivers (Michael Keaton) would never think twice about hearing voices from the dead. But when his beloved wife dies of a mysterious death and when he meets a stranger Raymond Price (Ian Mcneice). Who tells him he has heard his wife from the other side of death through EVP. Fueled by grief of the lost of his wife he throw himself into the world of EVP and tried to figure out what happen to his late wife.

Every time I see the trailer (Watch it Here)  for this film it gives me the Goosebumps it’s a very creepy trailer so I was looking forward to see this film. So after seeing this film I can say it was good but not as scary as I thought it would be. Some of the screens did make me jump out of my seat and hit my bad knee with the chain in front of me.

What I did not know until I read the production notes that people do believe this is happing in real life there is a website call American Association of Electronic Voice Phenomena (Click Here) if it is true I don’t want to know what my love ones think about me. So with this film out it will make people wonder if it real or make believe.

The story was good and it did have the creepiest elements down pact esp. during some of the screening when Jonathan is trying to see and hear people trough the static of his TV.

The acting was good but not great and it could have been a little better; but you don’t expect it to be outstanding. The film did not drag at all and held my attention from start to finish. The Ending of the film was good and ends the film right which is not the case in lot of horror suspense films.

Overall White Noise was good popcorn flick with some jumpy moments. So check it out today.
