I really think ICE CUBE is going places. He is the perfect choice to replace Vin Deisel in the XXX franchise. This second in the series is loaded with action and excitement. Ice Cube is Darius Stone, an imprisoned former OPS hot shot whom the head of the XXX force, Gibbons (SAMUAL L. JACKSON returning in the role) releases for the purpose of finding the traitor who is out to destroy the President of the United States (PETER STRAUSS, of the TV. mini-series "Rich Man, Poor Man") As the story takes shape, we find that the traitor is Defense Secretary Deckerk ( WILLIEM DEFOE of Spiderman). Defoe is always a great villain. As they recruit Darios, they explain the absence of Vin Diesel by just saying he was killed. As Darius uses his knowledge of military training and ghetto roots, he crosses paths with former friends and foes. These include an old flame (NONA GAYE) , a dogged F.B.I agent (SCOTT SPEEDMAN), a car jacker (XZIBIT) and a wild senate aide (SUNNY MABREY). There is none stop action here, which includes a final chase scene involving a presidential bullet train and the muscle car. Also, they leave us open for a new XXX agent in the next movie.
