A Film Review By Paul Perkins
An Ultimate Remote To Own
What if you could change you whole life with a hit of a
button what part of your life would you change? For me I
would go back and me and my exwife would never split. Also
did I mention you could also put the TV on and change the
channels. This is the premise behind the new film called
Click.
One thing that drive me nuts and it the new thing in movie
theater chains is, have a 20 min preshow which shows movie
trailers, commercials and behind the scene of upcoming
films. So if you are a critic like me or a movie buff you go
to the theater a lot of times a month so you see a lot of
preshow's. Last week it was The Fast and the Furious 3 which
I could not stand watching the preshow anymore this week in
Click, the behind the screens preshow shows a lot of the
gags of the film and take the experience of watching a new
film without knowing anything about the film.
A workaholic architect, who has been overlooking his family
in favor of his career, comes across an universal remote
that allows him to perform TiVo-like functions on his life,
such as pausing events or fast-forwarding over them.
Adam Sandler is the type of actor you either like him or
hate him, so of his film are stupid but laugh out loud
funny. Some of his best work is Waterboy, Happy Gilmore, The
Wedding Singer and many others. Of course like any actor he
has some bad ones as well like Punch Drunk Love, Little
Nicky. And couple of others as well.
His next one to bat Click and the same man directed it who
also did Wedding Singer and Waterboy so knowing this walking
into Click I had high hopes for the film. Now after watching
this two hour movie I can say I was not disappointed. It was
very funny but not like Adam other comedy this is a more
dryer comedy that the slapstick he is, know for doing.
The story was good I like the idea of the film granted this
is not an original type of film it does take from some
classic film like stooge, and one my all time favorite It's
a Wonderful Life. Don't let that scary you this is a good
film and I like the idea of a remote that controls your life
I wish I had one of those I could do so much with it. I like
the acting in the film by the two main stars, the only thing
that I can say bad is I wish they gave more time to Kate
Beckinsale who look beautiful as she usually does in all her
film.
